International Sailing Federation Disabled Sailing Committee told that the still carries expectations of recapturing their spot on Paralympic Games program following Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association presented a motion to have a twenty-third position included at Tokyo 2020.

Their aspirations come in spite of the International Paralympic Committee affirming to the International Sailing Federation in a meeting back in April that the procedure of selecting sports for Tokyo 2020 has officially drawn to a close, all but ending their last hopes.
The International Paralympic Committee preferred to cut the sport from the Olympics in the capital of Japanese in January after exacting it did not fulfill their handbook’s minimum measures for worldwide reach.

This suggests that only team sports regularly and widely practiced in a minimum of twenty-four countries as well as 3 IPC regions will be looked at for inclusion in the Paralympic Games and for individual sports a minimum of thirty-two countries in three IPC regions.
The decision take by the International Paralympic Committee sparked outrage among the sailing people and CPISRA will start a motion at IPC’s General Assembly that will take place on 14th and 15th Nov, to get sailing back on the list.

In order to retrieve its inclusion, the International Sailing Federation introduced a new Paralympic Development Programme that targets to increase engagement levels in disabled sailing and it vows to increase attendance by countries at international programs using Paralympics classes of equipment.
